Dr Michael MacKinnon
My interest in healthcare began
at an early age. I’ve had a lifelong relationship
with all forms of athletics and am fascinated
by the power and resilience of the human body.
I was raised in Vancouver, Washington, and moved
to Seattle to attend the University of Washington,
where I studied pre-med and was involved in various
neurosurgical research projects at the VA Hospital.
In time I came to realize that traditional medicine
was not the right fit for me, but my interests
in neurology and kinesiology led me to the study
of chiropractic. I continued my studies in neurology
while attending Life Chiropractic College West
in the Bay Area, in a 2 1/2 year post-doctorate
neurological diplomat program.
Following graduation in early 2000 I moved back
to Seattle to begin my practice, eventually founding
Avant Chiropractic in July 2003. I’m an
avid mountain biker, love snowboarding and gym
workouts, and have an abiding passion for music,
playing guitar, saxophone and piano.
My patients come from all around the seattle area: Fremont, Ballard, Greenwood, Queen Anne, Wallingford, Greenlake, the Eastside and South Seattle. Once you've taken the Avant Challenge, I hope you'll find every visit worthwhile, wherever you're coming from.
